Basic Care Guide
Brushing
Be sure to brush your suit regularly and before and after each use. After cleaning, brush using the bristles the correct direction, but when brushing after use brush the fur using the bristles in the opposite direction. This will keep the brush from pulling out too much fur, making the suit last longer. Pet brushes work very well.
Storing
When storing your fursuit make sure it's in a cool, dry place. Intense heat can damage a suit and loosen any glued areas, and wet places are a wonderful place for mold, mildew, and bacteria to grow. Keep your head in a storage container that won't squash the head and misshape it. Our heads are made from foam and will distort if not stored proporly. Eye's may also pop in or out if squashed and/or place in a tight fitting space not meant for fursuit heads. A closet shelf or plastic tub is recommended. Store your hand paws, tail, arm sleeves and feet in places you feel best that meet the terms above.
Sanitizing
While washing a suit is huge part of cleaning, we don't always have a tub or washer with us. At conventions where you are spending more then a day, it can get pretty sweaty in your suit. To keep your suit nice and fresh for the weekend, spray your suit down with a special cleaning spray that you can buy online specific to fursuits, or an alcoholic based cleaning mixture. Keep away from chemicals, which can be harmful to you and your suit. Make sure you have a non-toxic spray for the inside of the head. Keep water and sprays away from the eyes at all times. Fabreeze or any other fabric disinfectantis recommended for freshening up.
*** This is not a substitute for regular washing
